The subsequent generations lost sight of the LORD and became progressively steeped in moral anarchy and bloodlust, so that \u201cevery intention of the thoughts of man\u2019s heart was only evil continually\u201d (Gen. 6:5). After just nine generations, the LORD had grown so weary of humanity that he \u201cregretted\u201d (i.e., <em>yinchem<\/em>: \u05d9\u05bc\u05b4\u05e0\u05bc\u05b8\u05d7\u05b6\u05dd) creating man and \u201chis heart was grieved\u201d (Gen. 6:6).
