In many synagogues, the opening and concluding paragraphs of parashat Nitzavim are also read during the <a href=\"https:\/\/hebrew4christians.com\/Holidays\/Fall_Holidays\/Yom_Kippur\/yom_kippur.html\">Yom Kippur<\/a> morning service.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Nitzavim begins: \u201cYou are standing here today, all of you, before the LORD your God (\u05d0\u05b7\u05ea\u05bc\u05b6\u05dd \u05e0\u05b4\u05e6\u05bc\u05b8\u05d1\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05d4\u05b7\u05d9\u05bc\u05d5\u05b9\u05dd \u05db\u05bc\u05bb\u05dc\u05bc\u05b0\u05db\u05b6\u05dd \u05dc\u05b4\u05e4\u05b0\u05e0\u05b5\u05d9 \u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05d5\u05b8\u05d4 \u05d0\u05b1\u05dc\u05d4\u05b5\u05d9\u05db\u05b6\u05dd) &#8230; so that you may enter into the sworn covenant of the LORD your God, which the LORD your God is making with you today, that he may establish you today as his people, and that he may be your God, as he promised you, and as he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob\u201d (Deut. 29:10-13). After this Moses went on to review Israel\u2019s history and prophetic future &#8212; i.e., the great prophecy of the Diaspora and Return of the people &#8212; and then he solemnly appealed for all those who believed to turn to the LORD for life: \u201cI call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and curse.
