{"id":4619,"date":"2021-06-24T03:04:16","date_gmt":"2021-06-24T08:04:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/hebrew4christians.com\/training\/?p=4619"},"modified":"2021-06-26T06:07:00","modified_gmt":"2021-06-26T11:07:00","slug":"a-star-shall-lead-from-jacob","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/hebrew4christians.com\/training\/a-star-shall-lead-from-jacob\/","title":{"rendered":"A Star shall lead from Jacob&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4620 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/hebrew4christians.com\/training\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/06\/manger-art.jpg?resize=125%2C125&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"125\" height=\"125\" \/>In this week&#8217;s Torah portion (i.e., <a href=\"https:\/\/hebrew4christians.com\/Scripture\/Parashah\/Summaries\/Korach\/korach.html\">Balak<\/a>) we read an ancient prophecy of the coming Messiah: \u201ca Star shall come out of Jacob&#8230;\u201d Amazingly, the \u201cmeshugenah\u201d prophet Balaam \u2013 who may have been the forebear of the \u201cmagi of the east\u201d (Matt. 2:1-2) \u2013 actually foresaw the advent of the Messiah: \u201cI see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near: a Star shall come out of Jacob (\u05db\u05d5\u05db\u05d1 \u05de\u05d9\u05e2\u05e7\u05d1), and a Ruler shall rise out of Israel\u201d (Num. 24:17).
