\"\"During the prophesied \u201cend of days\u201d (\u05d0\u05b7\u05d7\u05b2\u05e8\u05b4\u05d9\u05ea \u05d4\u05b7\u05d9\u05bc\u05b8\u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd) many people will have an outer “form” (\u03bc\u1f79\u03c1\u03c6\u03c9\u03c3\u03b9\u03bd) of godliness but will deny its inner power, since their hearts will be turned away from the truth: “And because lawlessness (i.e., \u1f00\u03bd\u03bf\u03bc\u1f77\u03b1, lit. a=without; nomos<\/em>=Torah) will be increased, the love of many will grow cold” (Matt. 24:12). In this connection we note that the Hebrew word for “falsehood” (or “lie”) is sheker<\/em> (\u05e9\u05c1\u05b6\u05e7\u05b6\u05e8), which can also be read as she-kar<\/em> (\u05e9\u05c1\u05b6\u05e7\u05b7\u05e8), meaning “that which” (-\u05e9\u05c1) makes you cold (\u05e7\u05b7\u05e8). The truth of God can’t be known apart from His passion, inner fire, desire. Indeed, the Hebrew word for “sin” (\u05d7\u05b5\u05d8\u05b0\u05d0) means “missing the mark,” though that essentially means missing the revelation of God’s glory because lesser fears consume the heart and cool the passion for the truth… Let us ask the LORD to better know His heart by kindling his fire within our hearts!<\/p>\n

“Be still and know that I am…” Prayer is a type of listening (shema<\/em>), a turning back to heed the message of God\u2019s love and hope in Messiah. Indeed, the word \u201cteshuvah\u201d (\u05ea\u05bc\u05b0\u05e9\u05c1\u05d5\u05bc\u05d1\u05b8\u05d4), often translated as \u201crepentance,\u201d also means an answer or response to a question. God\u2019s love is the question, and the heart\u2019s response is the answer. Some of us may find it difficult to trust, to open our heart to receive grace and kindness. For those of us wounded by abandonment, it can be a great struggle to hear the voice of God calling you \u201cbeloved,\u201d \u201cworthy,\u201d “valued,” and \u201caccepted.\u201d When you find faith to receive God\u2019s word of love, however, your heart comes alive and you begin to heal…<\/p>\n
