Note the contrast between trusting and understanding in this familiar verse. Trust is a matter of heart, the decision to let go, whereas understanding is analytical, \u201cobjective,\u201d a matter of physical seeing. Human reason may help you discern the \u201cwhat\u201d of faith, but it is powerless to waken the soul, to breath life into heart, and to impart passion to seek God\u2019s Presence as your greatest need and your utmost good. That only comes through the painful awareness of your own sinful condition, the inner conviction that you are utterly undone and without hope apart from the real presence of God in your life&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1636\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/hebrew4christians.com\/training\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/prov3-5-analysis.gif?resize=529%2C541&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"529\" height=\"541\" \/><\/p>\n<audio class=\"wp-audio-shortcode\" id=\"audio-1635-1\" preload=\"none\" style=\"width: 100%;\" controls=\"controls\"><source type=\"audio\/mpeg\" src=\"https:\/\/hebrew4christians.com\/training\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/prov3-5-jjp.mp3?_=1\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/hebrew4christians.com\/training\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/prov3-5-jjp.mp3\">https:\/\/hebrew4christians.com\/training\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/prov3-5-jjp.mp3<\/a><\/audio>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\">&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Most commandments do not test how we comprehend our faith as much as they test the surrender of our heart. The test of faith requires <em>bittachon<\/em> (\u05d1\u05b4\u05bc\u05d8\u05b8\u05bc\u05d7\u05d5\u05b9\u05df) &#8211; that is, abandoning our need to understand so that we can completely cling to God&#8217;s wisdom&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFear not, for I am with you&#8230;\u201d \u05d0\u05b7\u05dc\u05be\u05ea\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05e8\u05b8\u05d0 \u05db\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9 \u05e2\u05b4\u05de\u05bc\u05b0\u05da\u05b8\u05be\u05d0\u05b8\u05e0\u05b4\u05d9. What we need most of all is right here, present in this hour, whether we&#8217;re conscious of it or not. God is with you, even if you feel alone, lost in darkness, unclean, afraid&#8230; \u201cDear Lord Jesus, I don\u2019t know who I am, I don\u2019t know where I am, and I don\u2019t know what I am, but please love me\u201d (prayer of a sufferer from Alzheimer\u2019s disease).
