These verses begin in Hebrew with one of these letters: Tav (\u05ea\u05bc), Shin (\u05e9\u05c1), Vav (\u05d5), Bet (\u05d1\u05bc), and Hey (\u05d4), which form the word for repentance, &#8220;teshuvah&#8221; (\u05ea\u05bc\u05b0\u05e9\u05c1\u05d5\u05d1\u05b8\u05d4). The five verses are 1) Tamim tiheyeh (\u05ea\u05bc\u05b8\u05de\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd \u05ea\u05bc\u05b4\u05d4\u05b0\u05d9\u05b6\u05d4): &#8220;Be wholehearted with God&#8221; (Deut. 18:13); 2) Shiviti Adonai (\u05e9\u05c1\u05b4\u05d5\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05ea\u05b4\u05d9 \u05d9\u05b0\u05d4\u05d5\u05b8\u05d4): &#8220;I have set the LORD always before me&#8221; (Psalm 16:8); 3) Va&#8217;ahavta lere\u2019akha (\u05d5\u05b0\u05d0\u05b8\u05d4\u05b7\u05d1\u05b0\u05ea\u05bc\u05b8 \u05dc\u05b0\u05e8\u05b5\u05e2\u05b2\u05da\u05b8): &#8220;Love your neighbor as yourself&#8221; (Lev. 19:18); 4) Bekhol derakekha (\u05d1\u05bc\u05b0\u05db\u05b8\u05dc\u05be\u05d3\u05bc\u05b0\u05e8\u05b8\u05db\u05b6\u05d9\u05da\u05b8): &#8220;In all your ways know Him&#8221; (Prov. 3:6); and 5) Higgid lekha (\u05d4\u05b4\u05d2\u05bc\u05b4\u05d9\u05d3 \u05dc\u05b0\u05da\u05b8): &#8220;Walk humbly with your God&#8221; (Micah 6:8).
